The Snapchat videos, which have been deleted, also show Bernstine encouraging his son to use vulgar language and play an adult-themed game.
Some newly discovered Snapchat videos from state Rep. Aaron Bernstine were so outrageous that members of his own party are calling on him to resign.
In one clip, the two-term Republican, who represents parts of Beaver, Butler, and Lawrence counties, gives his 5-year-old son a cigar and tells him to “hit it harder.”
Other videos include him encouraging the son to use vulgar language in reference to female gentials, and get another kid to play an adult-themed game.
The Beaver County Times broke the story after obtaining the videos. Bernstine has deleted his Snapchat account.
“(W)e are disgusted by Rep. Bernstine’s conduct,” the Republican Caucus said in a statement, calling for him to resign immediately so he could “focus on his family and repair his relationships.”
Bernstine remains defiant, saying it was jokes that went “way too far.”
“For that, I am truly sorry,” he said in a Twitter video. “I have to do a much better job as a role model for my child.”
He says more things will come out and that the parties will try to capitalize on the videos.
“The party bosses on both sides are going to try to take advantage of this situation,” he said.
He says he is going to continue to run for re-election and try to gain voters’ trust.
