US Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, who said just last week that Trump “lit the flame of incitement and owns responsibility” for the attempted coup, voted against impeachment.
WASHINGTON, DC — All nine of Pennsylvania’s Republican Representatives in Congress voted against impeaching President Donald Trump for his role in inciting the attack on the Capitol building last week.
The House voted 232-197 for impeachment. Four members didn’t vote.
Unlike Trump’s first impeachment in 2020, which was supported by all House Democrats and Independent votes but had no Republican votes, the president’s second impeachment included 10 Republican votes.
Eight of the nine Republicans also voted on Jan. 6 against the results of the 2020 presidential election.
US Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, R-Bucks, who said just last week that Trump “lit the flame of incitement and owns responsibility” for the attempted coup, voted against impeachment. He instead argued for Congress to censure Trump.
