Pennsylvania Congressman Scott Perry rents multiple district offices from Lowell Gates, a man who was arrested earlier this month for assaulting police officers with a flagpole during the attack on the US Capitol.
Property records show that Congressman Scott Perry (R-York) leases two district offices in the Harrisburg area from Lowell Gates, who was arrested earlier this month for assaulting police officers during the Jan. 6 attack the United States Capitol.
The Keystone was able to confirm that Perry’s offices in Harrisburg and Mechanicsburg were owned by Gates’ company, Linlo Properties.
Gates traveled to Washington DC with friends on Jan. 6th and video and body camera footage shows Gates using a flagpole as a spear and assaulting police officers with it.
Gates was charged with two felonies, including assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain offices using a dangerous weapon and obstruction of law enforcement during civil disorder. He was also charged with three misdemeanors: entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds, disorderly conduct in a Capitol building or grounds, and violent conduct in a Capitol building or grounds.
As reported by the Patriot News, Gates was arrested after the insurrection on unrelated charges for walking around his Mechanicsburg neighborhood without wearing any pants or underwear.
The Keystone previously reported that Lowell Gates and his wife, Linda Gates, have made many donations to Republicans in the Harrisburg area, and even held a fundraiser for State Sen. Doug Mastriano (R-Franklin) during his failed gubernatorial campaign last year. Gates’ wife donated $20,000 to Mastriano’s campaign.
A review of federal campaign finance reports shows that Gates and his wife have donated $17,550 to Perry since 2014.
Perry, who hasn’t been charged with any crimes, played a well documented role in the effort to overturn the 2020 election.
In the days following the election, Perry and Congressman Jim Jordan (R-OH) attended one of the first Stop the Steal rallies in the country on the steps of the Pennsylvania Capitol, joining right-wing extremist Scott Presler to spread lies about the outcome of the election.
Perry was also responsible for introducing Department of Justice (DOJ) lawyer Jeffrey Clark to former President Donald Trump in the weeks leading up to Jan. 6th. Perry was pressuring the DOJ to conduct sham investigations into the 2020 election results and after Acting Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen refused to engage in Perry’s coup plans, Perry introduced Clark to Trump.
As last year’s House hearings on Jan. 6 revealed, Clark embraced the former president’s lies of voter fraud and took steps to try and pressure Georgia state officials to overturn the election results in their state.
After Perry had his cell phone seized by the FBI last year, it was revealed that he spread many conspiracy theories about voting fraud. In one of the text messages that were uncovered, Perry blamed China for the outcome of the 2020 election.
“DNI needs to task NSA to immediately seize and begin looking for international comms related to Dominion – was china malware involved?” Perry wrote.
