Women across Pennsylvania will soon have access to new healthcare services, thanks to a new program from Gov. Josh Shapiro’s administration. The Women’s Service Program seeks to provide healthcare to pregnant and parenting women. Some services include: parenting education programming, sexually-transmitted infection testing and treatment, detection and prevention care and assistance for other physical or behavioral care needs. Pennsylvania Department of Human Services Secretary Val Arkoosh talked to The Keystone about the program at a reproductive healthcare roundate at the Pennsylvania State Capitol in Harrisburg on Friday. The program was created with funding that once went to Real Alternatives, a network of anti-abortion crisis pregnancy centers. Shapiro announced in August that his administration would cancel the organization’s contract with the commonwealth once it expired at the end of 2023. ✏️ 🎥 : Sean Kitchen #Pennsylvania #PAPolitics #PANews #Harrisburg #HarrisburgPA #CentralPA #CentralPennsylvania #ReproductiveHealthcare #ReproductiveRights #ReproductiveFreedoms #ReproductiveFreedom #PlannedParenthood #BansOffOurBodies #StopTheBans
