What better way to beat the summer’s heat than at one of Pennsylvania’s amazing water parks. With massive wave pools that simulate exciting ocean currents, and towering slides to enchant thrill seekers, these parks are sure to provide the ultimate in summer fun and relaxation.

So take a trip and cool off at any one of these 8 great watery playgrounds in the commonwealth.

Waldameer Park & Water World, Erie

Waldameer Water World has 16 water slides, a giant wave pool, and kiddie play areas, making it a refreshing warm-weather stop for the family. Get lost in the Bermuda Triangle on its three water slides, experience the breathtaking thrill of The Raging River, or “be in the dark” as the Liquid Lightning sends riders through twists and turns in near total darkness.

Water World is open from Thursday to Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Admission to the Water World is $36 for adults and $28.50 for seniors and visitors under 48”.

Idlewild & Soak Zone, Ligonier

Cool off this summer with a float down the lazy river, rocket down waterslides, and ‘ride the tide’ at the Wowabunga Family Wave Pool only at Idlewild & Soak Zone. Captain Kidd’s Adventure Gallery has six water slides along with water guns, spray jets, and a 500-gallon tipping bucket,

Idlewild is open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Admission is $54.99 per person.

Delgrosso’s Park and Laguna Splash Water Park, Tipton

Delgrosso’s Park and Laguna Splash Water Park is a great way to escape the summer heat. You can float down a lazy river, zip down the water slides, and cool off in the wave pool. 

The water park is open Wednesday through Monday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. An all day fun pass is $36.95 per person.

Wildwater Kingdom at Dorney Park, Allentown

Wildwater Kingdom at Dorney Park features a football-field size wave pool, more than 36 water slides, and a cool fun house of watery fun. For the ultimate thrill ride, enter the Snake Pit where you’ll plunge down a series of high-speed drops and banking twists and turns, or climb aboard a multi-person raft at The Aquablast.

Wildwater Kingdom is open daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. A single-day admission ticket costs $44.99.

Camelbeach Outdoor Waterpark, Tannersville

At Camelbeach Outdoor Waterpark you can float past waterfalls, geysers, and bubbling waters on the Blue Nile Adventure River; ride the waves at Kahuna Lagoon Wave Pool; and experience plunging drops and whipping turns on the body slides.

Admission is $45 per person.

The Boardwalk at Hersheypark, Hershey

With 15 water rides and attractions, including high-speed tubing rides, a “Sprayground” for younger swimmers, and a colossal wave pool, the Boardwalk at Hersheypark offers a ton of cool summer fun!

The Boardwalk is open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Admission is $64.99 for an adult and $54.99 for kids ages 3 to 8.

Kalahari Resort, Pocono Manor

With both an indoor and outdoor water park, Kalahari Resort’s 150-acre complex promises fun times regardless of the weather! Their outdoor waterpark offers slides galore, a large outdoor pool, and Bugs Burrow — perfect for little ones to splash, play, and have fun!

The outdoor waterpark is open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Admission to the waterpark is $69.99

Duke’s Lagoon at Dutch Wonderland, Lancaster

Get wonderfully wet a Dutch Wonderland’s Duke’s Lagoon! There’s a multi-level waterplay platform, kid-sized slides, a variety of spray nozzles, jets, tipping cones, and a large tipping bucket to delight kids of all ages.

Duke’s Lagoon is open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is $59.99.
