Exuding romance and offering a variety of experiences for couples to enjoy, three historic hotels across Pennsylvania have made the list of most romantic getaways.
With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, are you scrambling to find the perfect romantic destination for a getaway with that special someone? Thankfully, Pennsylvania has some spots that are among the most romantic in the nation.
Historic Hotels of America, the official program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation for recognizing historic hotels, recently released its 2025 Top 25 Most Romantic Hotels list — and three of Pennsylvania’s historic hotels are on it.
The historic hotels that made the list all exude romance and provide a variety of experiences for couples, according to Historic Hotels of America. These hotels offer special romance, wedding, or engagement packages for couples looking to celebrate their love, whether it is an intimate getaway or a celebration with friends and family.
Here are the three hotels in the commonwealth that made the list.
The Inn at Leola Village, Leola
Located in the heart of Lancaster County, The Inn at Leola Village was established in 1867 and was once an Amish tobacco farm. The inn was saved from demolition and transformed into a warm and inviting countryside getaway where couples can unwind.
Inducted into Historic Hotels of America in 2001, the inn provides luxurious accommodations featuring oversized whirlpool tubs, cozy fireplaces, fine linens, and thoughtful amenities that set the stage for unforgettable moments. The full-service spa offers couples massages and personalized wellness treatments, creating a peaceful sanctuary for two. Whether guests are marking a special occasion or simply cherishing each other’s company, this romantic retreat provides the ideal setting to fall even more deeply in love.
Ledges Hotel, Hawley
Located along Wallenpaupack Creek, amid the breathtaking scenery of the Pocono Mountains, Ledges Hotel in Hawley offers guests tranquility and relaxation. The hotel’s rooms feature handcrafted designs, artisan touches, and unique furnishings built from the wood of the original Bellemonte Silk Mill trusses.
The most romantic spot at the historic hotel is on the tiered decks overlooking Paupack High Falls. There is also a Stargazer Deck, which is a secluded location that overlooks the waterfall and gorge. Another outdoor space, called “the ruins,” provides an intimate setting and a secret garden atmosphere for guests, with its Bluestone walls, plants, and patio seating.
The Hotel Hershey, Hershey
The Hotel Hershey was built under the direction of chocolatier and businessman Milton Hershey, who was inspired to build the Spanish Colonial Revival-style hotel when his architect showed him a postcard of a beautiful hotel in the western Mediterranean. Completed in 1933, this elegant hotel is set among 300 panoramic acres of manicured gardens and tranquil reflecting pools.
Inside, the lobby was designed to look like a Spanish-style courtyard with palm trees, a beautiful fountain, wrought-iron light poles, and a painted ceiling depicting a blue sky.
For a truly sweet experience, guests can book a cocoa couples massage, Sweet Feet For Two pedicure, or the Couples Retreat Day package at The Spa At The Hotel Hershey. The Hotel Hershey offers a ‘Romance In Hershey’ package, which includes a rose petal turndown service, champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries, daily breakfast, and admission to local attractions such as Hershey Gardens.
