Bernie Sanders calls out income inequality during ‘Fighting Oligarchy’ tour

US Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) highlighted growing income inequality between the top 1% and the bottom 93% of Americans while speaking as part of his Fighting Oligarchy Tour in Harrisburg and Bethlehem this past weekend.

Sanders spent the weekend touring Pennsylvania with Congressman Chris Deluzio (D-Allegheny), bringing together thousands of Pennsylvanians at his stops.

Both stops along Sanders’ Fighting Oligarchy Tour are home to two of Pennsylvania’s most vulnerable Republican Congressmen, US Reps. Scott Perry (R-York) and Ryan Mackenzie (R-Lehigh), and Democrats are hoping to flip those seats in the 2026 midterm elections.

Listen: Scott Perry Calls for Impeaching and Defunding Federal Judges

Listen to Congressman Scott Perry talk about impeaching federal district judges and defunding federal courts standing in the way of President Donald Trump’s agenda.

Perry appeared on a right-wing podcast earlier this month and called on Republicans to use reconciliation, a budgetary maneuver that doesn’t require 60 votes in the US Senate, to pass legislation limiting judges from issuing nationwide injunctions.

Perry also called on the US House to use the Holman rule, which dates back to the 1870s, in order to defund district courts blocking Trump’s agenda.

PA Medicaid Recipient Shares Powerful Message for Lawmakers

Carly Morton shared a powerful message for Congressional lawmakers when she was asked what she would say to President Donald Trump or US House Republicans considering cutting $880 billion from Medicaid, a move that could have direct implications on her life.

Morton, a 31-year-old Beaver County resident, relies on Medicaid. She has 23 medical diagnoses and spends a lot of her time going to medical appointments or treating herself because of her conditions. Because of Medicaid, she’s able to be healthy enough to work part-time.

Morton told The Keystone that she just wants to participate in society, but cuts to Medicaid would force her to choose between receiving her needed medical care or buying food, paying for rent, or other basic needs.
