Regions of Pennsylvania that have seen a low number of coronavirus cases might be able to reopen "in a fairly robust" way on May 8, Gov. Tom Wolf said Tuesday.
A recent poll found that a majority of Americans believe their state governors are responding to the coronavirus crisis more effectively than the national effort led by President Trump.
In a statement, Wolf's office said “irresponsibly going against the direction of the secretary of health and reopening businesses too early will only extend the length of the economic hardships created by the pandemic.”
The bill, which now heads to Gov. Wolf's desk, would make it so a wider range of businesses is deemed “essential,” including home construction and some small businesses.
"I believe Joe has all the qualities we need in a president right now," Obama said in a nearly 12- minute video.
“We have a responsibility to make sure essential workers have the protections they need, the rights they are entitled to, and the compensation they deserve.”
Trump has insisted that no one could have seen the coronavirus coming. His predecessor did.
