Pennsylvania’s Democratic candidate for US Senate focused on the stakes of the race for abortion rights and Dr. Oz’s extreme stance on abortion.

John Fetterman’s message to the nearly 3,000 people who attended the Montgomery County Women For Fetterman rally on Sunday was simple: he will fight for reproductive rights in Washington.

“Send me to D.C. and you will know I will be there to be that vote to scrap the filibuster and codify Roe v. Wade,” Fetterman told the crowd.

Speaking before a packed gym at Montgomery County Community College in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania’s Democratic candidate for US Senate focused on the stakes of the race for abortion rights and his opponent’s extreme stance on abortion.

“Should this decision be made by Dr. Oz?” Fetterman asked the crowd, who answered with a resounding “no!”

“It should be left to a woman and a real doctor,” he said.

Among those on hand to support Fetterman was Montgomery County Commissioner, Dr. Val Arkoosh. In August, Arkoosh helped launch the group “Real Doctors Against Oz,” a coalition of 109 practicing Pennsylvania physicians who have called out Oz for poor medical practices and promotion of “unproven, ill-advised, and at times potentially dangerous treatments.”

“John Fetterman will always protect your right to an abortion; Dr. Oz will take those rights away—it’s that simple,” Arkoosh told the crowd. “John understands that abortion is healthcare. John believes that the right to an abortion in non-negotiable. I agree, which is why this doctor is supporting John Fetterman.”
