Voters wait in line on Tuesday, the last day of early voting, in Luzerne County.
As the divisive rhetoric of a campaign season drives many would-be voters away from engaging with democracy, the Keystone is working to let Pennsylvanians know that their vote matters.
Misinformation and disinformation aren’t just buzz words. They are very real, and very harmful threats to democracy that can lead to voter suppression and/or a loss of trust in the system.
Each day, we do everything we can to cut through the white noise of misinformation and disinformation. Our goal is to empower Pennsylvanians by giving them fact-based information that will enable them to make informed decisions on the leaders they choose to represent them in Harrisburg and Washington.
We work hard to show Pensylvanians the impact that policy and political action has on their lives—good and bad—whether they live in a metropolis like Philadelphia, or in Fulton County where the cows outnumber the people.
In an election cycle, our work takes on even greater importance. At a time when it’s more important than ever for people to participate in the democratic process, the divisive rhetoric that gets amplified during a campaign season drives many would-be voters to tune out completely from engaging with information that could have a positive effect on their lives.
Our mission at Keystone is to cut through the white noise and the echo chamber rhetoric to engage these very people. We strive to build a better-informed, more civically-engaged Pennsylvania. We want our audience to have access to information they can use to build better lives and stronger communities. We want our audience to know that their vote matters.
You can help to advance our mission by letting your friends and family know about the Keystone, and the importance of voting in the upcoming election. One great way to do that is by sharing some of these cool GIFs below. You can also direct people to our Voter Hub and to sign up for our newsletter.
