The Respect for Marriage Act passed the US House despite six of Pennsylvania’s GOP representatives voting against it. The bill would protect marriage equality through federal law.
The process is running up against the three-week period beginning Feb. 15 when candidates can circulate petitions to get on primary election ballots. The primary election is May 17.
The Republican and Democratic chairs of the Senate State Government Committee plan to introduce a map in the coming days, with committee and floor votes expected in January after a public comment period.
