Officials announced Tuesday morning that the water in city taps will be unaffected by a chemical spill until at least 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, based on the time it takes for water to be treated and reach customers.
Celebrations will take place throughout the state for the holiday Dr. Maulana Karenga created in 1966 as a way for “African American families to reconnect to their roots and their community."
