VIDEO: Josh Shapiro invites PA students to light the Pennsylvania Capitol rotunda Christmas tree

In his first tree-lighting ceremony as governor, Josh Shapiro invited Pre-K for Pa students to light the Pennsylvania Capitol rotunda Christmas tree on Tuesday. The rotunda tree is a 20-foot Douglas Fir comes from the Crystal Tree Farm in Lehighton, Carbon County, and is decorated with more than 1,250 LED lights and more than 700 hand-crafted ornaments made by Pre-K for PA students and residents of of Pennsylvania Department of Aging-run senior centers across the commonwealth. The rotunda Christmas tree will be lit daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., while the tree on the Capitol steps will be lit daily from 5 p.m. to 12 a.m. Visitors have the opportunity to see both trees lit up through Jan. 8, 2024. #Pennsylvania #PAPolitics #Harrisburg #CentralPA #Christmas #ChristmasTree #Winter #News #Holidays #717 #CentralPennsylvania #717Living
