With so many great places to see, and so little time, we’ve all got a must-see spot in the commonwealth on our bucket list.
We’ve got so many amazing places to visit in Pennsylvania, from natural wonders like our very own “Grand Canyon,” to architectural marvels like Fallingwater, to vibrant big cities like Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, to towns steeped in US history like Gettysburg, and much more.
You want to see and experience all of it, but it’s a tall order; life gets in the way.
To that end, in a recent edition of the Keystone newsletter (which you can subscribe to here) we asked readers to name a place in Pennsylvania they’ve always wanted to visit but haven’t. Here’s what your fellow Pennsylvanians had to say:
“One day I have to get to Cherry Springs State Park. My dream is to see the Milky Way.”
Gwen, Wernersville
“I want to have visited every county in Pennsylvania. Only three counties to go. Next month, I plan to visit Forest, Elk, and Cameron Counties. Then my mission will be accomplished.”
Florence Gallagher, Philadelphia
“Williamsport during the Little League World Series or the PA Grand Canyon.”
Nicole Roper, Broomall
“The one place in PA I would love to visit would be the tunnels on the abandoned PA Turnpike, as well as the abandoned roadway. I remember driving through them as a kid.”
Terry Sturgis, Douglassville
“Jim Thorpe!”
Dale Finn, Philadelphia
“I’ve always wanted to visit the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon.”
Eileen Blakeslee, Erie
“I’d love to visit all the minor league baseball stadiums throughout the state. I’ve hit Altoona, Erie, and Washington already.”
Kirk H., Clearfield
“A weed dispensary that sells recreational bud.”
Ellen J., Camp Hill
