Endorsing progressive, down-ballot candidates in state and local races is key to transforming the country, Sanders said.
Touting the upcoming election as the most important in the modern history of our country, Bernie Sanders announced his support for various progressive candidates in state House and state Senate races.
The outcome of state races are important to the support and success of the fight to transform the country, he said.
“We need to continue building and strengthening our movement from the ground up by electing more progressives to state and local positions,” Sanders said. “Because the truth is that the victories we accomplish in this election will lay the groundwork for the future of our political revolution.”
Sanders endorsed the following candidates running in Pennsylvania’s Senate and House races:

State House of Representatives
- Sara Innamorato (D), for District 21, Tioga County

- John Padora (D), for District 37, Lancaster County
- Nicole Miller (D), for District 87, Cumberland County
- Tara Shakespeare (D), for District 88, Cumberland County
- Tara Zrinski (D), for District 138, Northampton County
- Elizabeth Fiedler (D), for District 184, South Philadelphia
- Rick Krajewski (D), for District 188, West Philadelphia
