With Election Day looming, Democratic gubernatorial candidate Josh Shapiro will discuss the issues facing Pennsylvanians in a candidate forum that is open to the public.
PHILADELPHIA — COURIER and its Pennsylvania-based newsroom The Keystone are hosting a candidate forum featuring Pennsylvania attorney general and Democratic nominee for governor Josh Shapiro on Wednesday, Oct. 19, at the Bok Building in South Philadelphia.
The event will be co-hosted by actor and comedian Ilana Glazer and COURIER’s publisher Tara McGowan and is open to the public. Anyone interested in attending can register here.
Shapiro is running against extreme-right Republican Doug Mastriano in a race that will have a significant impact on the future of abortion rights, voting rights, public education, and much more in Pennsylania. With less than one month until Election Day, the forum will give voters an opportunity to hear from the Democratic candidate on his plans to preserve democracy in the commonwealth. Mastriano was invited to participate but has yet to respond.
“Our audiences of under-reached news consumers deserve to hear directly from candidates in the races that impact their lives the most,” said McGowan, COURIER’s founder and publisher. “We deliver quality news to these audiences everyday on social media and we are excited to now be doing so through live events.”
Doors will open for the candidate forum at 6:00 p.m., with featured guests set to begin speaking at 6:30 p.m. A live stream of the event will also be available. Anyone interested in viewing can register here.
