Keystone State Park and the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area are among 20 locations selected for the 2023 Best Destination for Fall Foliage award.
Pennsylvanians have long known about the scenic beauty of places such as Keystone State Park and the Delaware Water Gap, and now those two areas are drawing national attention.
A panel of experts and USA Today’s editors recently announced that Keystone State Park in Westmoreland County and Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area in the northeastern part of the state have been nominated for the Readers’ Choice Awards for the Best Destination for Fall Foliage.
You can support Keystone State Park or the Delaware Water Gap — two of 20 locations selected for the 2023 Best Destination for Fall Foliage award — by voting daily through Sept. 4.
Keystone State Park is a 1,200-acre area with eight miles of hiking trails, including the two-mile Lakeside Loop, and a wide range of plant and animal life which make it an ideal setting for wildlife watching or outdoor adventures. Picnic and pavilion facilities are also available.
The Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area is a 70,000-acre national park in northwest New Jersey and northeast Pennsylvania. It is centered around a 40-mile stretch of the Delaware River. At the area’s southern end lies the Delaware Water Gap, a striking mountain pass where the river cuts between Blue Mountain and Kittatinny Mountain.
