“Local witch sues Hanover Police Department” was not a story we were expecting to cover in 2023, but the story of Hanover’s self proclaimed “neighborhood witch” Beck Lawrence continues to unfold.

We first met Lawrence in October, after their metaphysical store, The Serpent’s Key Shoppe & Sanctuary, was targeted by the Hanover police over an obscure 1861 law banning fortune tellers for profit in Pennsylvania.
