March 5, 2024

Pennsylvania Republican Congressmen GT Thompson, Guy Reschenthaler, Lloyd Smucker and Mike Kelly were among the 145 Republican lawmakers who signed onto an amicus brief asking the US Supreme Court to use a law from 1873 to ban mifepristone, one of two drugs used in medication abortions.

The court is set to hear a case that severely restricts access to the popular medication on March 26th. It is the first abortion-related case the court has taken since overturning nationwide abortion rights with the Dobbs decision in June 2022.
