“Representation matters,” Pennsylvania House Speaker Joanna McClinton (D-Philadelphia) said in an exclusive interview with The Keystone earlier this week.

McClinton became the commonwealth’s first female speaker and the second African American speaker after Democrats regained control of the Pennsylvania House following the 2022 election, and McClinton explained why that representation matters for her community.
