
The Education Department recognized 13 Pa. schools as National Blue Ribbon Schools for excelling in academic performance.
Thirteen schools throughout Pennsylvania were recognized as National Blue Ribbon Schools by the U.S. Department of Education.
This recognition is awarded to schools that excel in academic performance or make significant strides toward closing achievement gaps among different student groups. In total, 356 schools across the country were named 2024 Blue Ribbon Schools.
“The 2024 National Blue Ribbon Schools are raising the bar for our nation’s students, serving as models for effective teaching and intentional collaboration in their schools and communities,” said U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona in a statement. “As we celebrate their achievements, let us look to these schools for inspiration as we champion education as the foundation of a brighter future for every child.”
The Pennsylvania schools named as National Blue Ribbon Schools are:
- Economy Elementary School, Beaver County
- Marlborough Elementary School, Montgomery County
- West Hanover Elementary School, Dauphin County
- Richland Elementary School, Cambria County
- Mercer Area High School, Mercer County
- Central High School, Philadelphia County
- Holy Family School, Chester County
- Dorseyville Middle School, Allegheny County
- Connoquenessing Elementary School, Butler County
- Saltsburg Elementary School, Indiana County
- Quaker Valley Middle School, Allegheny County
- Springfield High School, Delaware County
- Oakview Elementary School, Mercer County
