Kamala Harris rallied over 3,500 supporters at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg where she continues to make her closing pitch to voters ahead of the election.
Thousands of Central Pennsylvanians filled the Pennsylvania Farm Show’s Giant Expo Hall in Harrisburg on Wednesday to see Vice President Kamala Harris execute her closing arguments in her campaign against Donald Trump.
Over 3,500 supporters were met with performances from Harrisburg High School’s Marching Cougars and their cheer squad as they were making their way into the sprawling complex.
“We know we have an opportunity in this election to turn the page on a decade of Donald Trump trying to keep us divided and afraid of each other. That is who he is, but Pennsylvania, that is not who we are,” Harris told her supporters.
“I know plenty of folks are just exhausted with it all and know that it is time to stop pointing fingers and to start locking arms. It is time for a new generation of leadership in America, and together with you, we will do this. And I am ready to offer that leadership as the next president of the United States of America.”
Wednesday’s visit was Harris’ first trip to the region since becoming the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee in July. Harris canceled a previous visit to the region due to Hurricane Helene last month.
Harris urged her supporters to come up with a plan to vote on Election Day or return their mail-in ballots after the deadline to vote early at local election offices passed on Tuesday.
“Now is the time to remind our neighbors and our friends to make a plan to vote in person on Election Day or to return your mail-in ballot,” Harris said. “If you still have a mail-in ballot, you can take it to a ballot drop box or an election office in your county by 8PM on Election Day.”
On Tuesday, Harris rallied over 75,000 supporters at the Ellipse, where Trump riled an armed mob to attack the US Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, in Washington DC, and she continued to make the argument as to why Trump is not fit to return to office.
“In less than 90 days, either he or I will be in the oval office,” Harris said.
“Here’s the thing. We know if he is elected on day one, Donald Trump would walk into that office with an enemies list. When I am elected, I will walk in with a to-do list.”
Harris went on and promised to restore reproductive rights once she’s elected.
“When Congress passes a bill to restore reproductive freedom as president of the United States, I will proudly sign it into law,” Harris said.
“Pennsylvania, I am asking for your vote, and here is my pledge to you as your president. I pledge to seek common ground and common sense solutions to the challenges you face.
