Donald Trump can’t stop lying about Pennsylvania’s election

While rallying supporters in Lancaster County, Donald Trump continued to lie about next week’s election. Trump lied about voting hours being extended and it taking 12 days for ballots to be counted.

To no one’s surprise, Donald Trump continued to lie about Pennsylvania’s upcoming election while rallying supporters in Lancaster county early on Sunday.

“They are fighting so hard to steal this damn thing. Look at what’s going on. Look at what’s going on in your state. Every day they’re talking about extending hours. Who ever heard of this stuff,” Trump said.

“You ought to have the election over by 9 o’clock. I’m hearing now that they are going to take weeks. Can you imagine if they spend all this money, all this money, on machines and they are going to say ‘we may take an extra 12 days to determine,’ and what do you think happens during that 12 days,” Trump continued

First, Republicans originally sued Bucks County to extend their office hours due to the high volume of residents who were voting early.

Second, it will not take an extra 12 days to determine the winner in Pennsylvania because counties have to deliver their results to the state by Nov. 12.

However, it may take days for Pennsylvania to declare a winner in the presidential election because Republicans have consistently blocked efforts to pass pre-canvassing legislation, which would allow counties a week to open mail-in ballots and prepare them for counting after the polls close on Election Day.

Over 2 million voters applied for a mail-in ballot in this election, but due to the current law, counties are not allowed to start canvassing their ballots until 8AM on Election Day and can’t count them until after the polls close at 8PM.

Trump made these disturbing comments as Democrats are preparing for Trump to preemptively declare himself the winner on Election Day regardless of the results.

Gov. Josh Shapiro told The Keystone earlier this week that he fully expects Trump to lie about the results while campaigning with Janelle Stelson.

“We fully expect Donald Trump to lie about our elections. I fully expect Scott Perry to lie about our elections. Why do I expect that? Because they did it last time. Because they’re the ones who are out spreading the mis- and disinformation,” Shapiro said.
