SEPTA was planning to cut service by 45% and raise fares by more than 20% due to a lack of state funding. SEPTA’s new fiscal year began on July 1, 2025. Thanks to FanDuel, SEPTA will run regularly scheduled subway trains, plus Sports Express trips, before and after the game.

Days after alerting fans to potential travel frustrations due to the impending SEPTA service cuts, FanDuel stepped up to the plate to ensure safety and comfort for Eagles fans. The online gambling company will provide resources to help fully restore service on SEPTA’s Broad Street Line [B] for Thursday night’s massive season opener against the hated Dallas Cowboys.

Pre-game, Sports Express trips will run every 10 minutes to supplement Local service. Post-game, SEPTA will have 10 Express and six Local trains ready to get fans home from NRG Station. Post-game trips will operate over a period of approximately 70 minutes, and SEPTA urges fans to go to NRG station right after the game to ensure they can catch a train home.

The FanDuel sponsorship covers free rides home for fans. The free rides from NRG Station begin at halftime and continue through the end of service.

Eagles president Don Smolenski said this on the matter.

“We appreciate FanDuel and SEPTA for collaborating to help provide Eagles fans with convenient transportation to-and-from our home opener,” said Don Smolenski, President, Philadelphia Eagles. “Their generous support will assist fans in getting to Lincoln Financial Field so that we can all enjoy the Championship Moment together as we take on the division rival Dallas Cowboys.”

Mike Raffensperger, President, Sports at FanDuel, had this to say on his company coming to the rescue.

“We know excited Eagles fans are making their travel plans to Lincoln Financial Field for tomorrow as they get ready to watch the team’s home opener,” said Mike Raffensperger, President, Sports at FanDuel. “As an official team partner of the Eagles, we are proud to collaborate with SEPTA to make that planning easier by providing fans with free and reliable transportation after the game.”

SEPTA’s Broad Street Line travels from Center City Philadelphia to Lincoln Financial Field, providing fans with easy transfers from SEPTA’s buses, Regional Rail trains, the Market-Frankford Line [L], and PATCO.
