
Pierre Robert, a longtime host at Philadelphia's rock station 93.3 WMMR, died on Oct. 29, 2025.
Longtime Philadelphia radio legend Pierre Robert has died at 70 years old. Robert worked at rock station 93.3 WMMR for more than 40 years.
According to a news release from his employer, Robert was found dead in his home Wednesday. A cause of death is still unknown but no foul play is expected.
“We all have heavy hearts today,” Beasley Media Group Chief Executive Officer Caroline Beasley said in a statement. “Pierre’s unwavering love for music and his deep connection with listeners made him one of radio’s most enduring and beloved voices. He will be greatly missed.”
A longtime on-air host, Robert joined the rock station in 1981 where he hosted the midday show. He quickly became known as a trusted source for music news and commentary and for always referring to his listeners fondly as “citizens.”
Robert also contributed to various features at the station including “Noontime Workforce Blocks,” “Pierre’s Vinyl Cut,” exclusive artist interviews, live in-studio performances and more. He was also well-known for delivering insightful “On This Day” history lessons on air.
An icon of the city’s media environment, Robert has a star included on the Philadelphia Music Alliance Walk of Fame.
