The Trump Store in Bensalem is closing Jan. 31, the owner announced.
“After 6 wonderful years at our Bensalem location, we have made the difficult decision to close The Trump Store,” a post on the store’s social media account read. “A big thank you to all of our loyal customers and the life-long friends that we’ve made.”
The Street Road store’s website will remain operational, and the owners plan to continue selling merchandise at gun shows, according to the post.
Michael Domanico opened the store in 2020 after he and his wife Monica noticed that Trump merch sold well at their mall kiosk, while liberal merch did not. The couple never sold anti-Trump merch though, Domanico said, because they’re big fans.
The couple signed a one-year lease, betting on a second term for President Trump.
“I hate to close it,” Domanico said Tuesday. Business has dropped off the past three or four months, he said, because “nothing’s happening that’s gotten people really riled up to come in.”
The last event that got customers motivated to visit the store was Charlie Kirk’s assassination, Domanico said.
The store drew international headlines and visitors from around the country with its wide selection of T-shirts, bobbleheads, flags and more, celebrating the GOP president.
“I believe in everything he stands for,” Monica Domanico said when they opened. “The bottom line, what he‘s doing for the country.”
The store is holding a sale on remaining inventory for the rest of January, according to the post, with $3 shirts and $5 hats.
