Seventy-three employees will be impacted by the closure of a brake rotor manufacturer in Hanover that comes amid the bankruptcy of its parent company, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) notice issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor.
Eagle Castings, operated by First Brands Group, LLC., in the 400 block of East Middle Street in Hanover, will begin the process of closing on Feb. 27, 2026, according to the WARN notice issued at the end of Dec. 2025.
The brake rotor manufacturer will then close by March 31, 2026, the notice states.
The 73 employees at the facility will be impacted by the closure, according to the notice.
The facility first began operations on East Middle Street in 1937 as part of the nearby R.H. Sheppard, and broke away from the larger company in 2023 to become Eagle Castings, the business said.
A WARN notice requires employers to give employees at least 60 days notice before their layoff date or termination date, according to the Department of Labor, and are required whenever an employer has 100 or more full-time employees.
First Brands Group, the operator of the plant listed as doing business as Eagle Casting, according to their website, is an an American automotive aftermarket company that “develops, markets and sells premium products through a portfolio of market-leading brands.”
Amid ongoing financial issues, the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in September 2025, according to the company’s bankruptcy filing.
WARN notices in Indiana and Ohio show that in 2026 the company is additionally closing a Fayette, Ohio facility, known as the Eagle Machining facility, as well as in Warsaw, Indiana, the Dalton Warsaw facility.
In the Ohio closure, 251 employees were impacted, according to the WARN notice, while 262 were impacted in the Indiana closure.
