The World’s Largest Rubber Duck is coming to Pittsburgh from April 17-22, courtesy of Wolfe LLC and PerfectGift.com.
The 61-foot-tall inflatable yellow duck, nicknamed “Mama Duck,” and her 10-foot baby duck companion will roost on land outside Wolfe LLC’s corporate office at 10 Foster Plaza (680 Anderson Drive) in Green Tree.
The company also plans to host a ‘Tailgate with the Duck Party’ event outdoors from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on April 18 and 19 to celebrate the coming NFL Draft events in Pittsburgh. Both days’ events are free, open to the public and will feature food trucks, live radio broadcasts, a prize wheel and special giveaways.
The ducks will be visible from Interstate 376 starting the morning of April 17 and will be lit up each evening, according to a press release from Wolfe LLC announcing the event.
Private events with the ducks are planned on April 20 and 21, but then the public can see the pair in person one last time on April 22 until deflation begins around 6 p.m.
Guests are invited to post photos and videos from the event using #PerfectGiftDuck. A photo contest is also planned, with more information to come at perfectgift.com/duck.
It’s not the same duck
The last time a rubber duck visited Pittsburgh was in 2013. That duck was a Dutch artist’s work that was about 40 feet tall, and a million people came out to see it floating in the Allegheny River, said Wolfe LLC Founder and CEO Jason Wolfe in a video posted at the PerfectGift.com website.
Mama duck is 61 feet tall and travels across the U.S., sometimes with the baby duck in tow, to appear for special occasions through bookings at thebigduck.us. The ducks also spent several days in western Pennsylvania in June 2025 at Idlewild Park in Ligonier.
Wolfe said in his video that he moved to Pittsburgh in 1994 from Hershey and began building his first e-commerce business, an online coupon website, in 1995. He credits the city with giving him “a second chance” and helping him to succeed – so he wanted to give something back.
“We wanted to welcome the world the way Pittsburgh welcomed me – with open arms and, apparently, a really big duck,” Wolfe said in the video.
“No tickets, no charge. Just a gift from a local company to the city that embraced a poor kid from Hershey, Pennsylvania. So from me to you, I hope the duck brings you as many smiles as it brings to me and my team.”
Mama duck then moves on to Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, for appearances at the 12th annual All-City Art Walk and the Ohio Rubber Duck Dash festival on April 23-25, 2026.
