The sale of David McCormick’s $6.5 million mansion, which has not been widely reported, provides a glimpse of the kind of wealth McCormick possesses, despite his attempts to depict himself as an average Pennsylvanian.
David McCormick, the former hedge fund executive and Republican vying to be Pennsylvania’s next Senator is a millionaire. But just how wealthy he is has proven difficult to decipher.
Thanks to public records, we now know a little bit more about McCormick, a native-born Pennsylvanian who lived in Connecticut for more than a decade before moving back to the commonwealth last year to mount his campaign. In September 2021, McCormick’s LLC, Frosty Valley 3, sold his six-bedroom, six-bathroom mansion in Fairfield, Conn. for $6.5 million, according to public records.
The sale, which has not been widely reported, provides a glimpse of the kind of wealth McCormick possesses, despite his attempts to depict himself as an average Pennsylvanian.
The McCormick campaign declined to comment on the record.
Previously, Business Insider reported on McCormick’s 2015 divorce filings in New York state, which laid out how McCormick received more than $70 million in “discretionary awards” connected to his work at Bridgewater Associates. As part of his divorce, McCormick also agreed to pay his ex-wife $6 million over eight years.
McCormick is required to file a financial disclosure at least 30 days before the commonwealth’s May 17 primary, which will shed further insight into his wealth.
