Mastriano Campaign Hires Trump Conspiracy Theorist Jenna Ellis

As the January 6 Committee convened for the second time to debunk the claims of 2020 election fraud and expose the charlatans responsible for those false claims, the Mastriano campaign decided to throw its support behind the conspiracy theorists by hiring one of the primary creators of 2020 election fraud mythology.

Ellis is best known for several appearances with Rudy Giuliani in front of state legislatures in an attempt to sway the states to decertify the 2020 election results. These attempts to overturn the election and subvert the will of the people were unsuccessful, and have led to disciplinary actions against most of the lawyers involved.

Rudy Giuliani, for example, has had his law license suspended, and Ellis herself faces a number of ethics violations as well.

Mastriano’s opponent, Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro, was quick to respond to the hire:

The hire signals a number of things, and none of them are good for Pennsylvania voters. Ellis’s previous election fraud claims have been refuted again and again, and by reputable sources in both parties, and by every nonpartisan group and court that has seen them. The claims have been entirely debunked, and have been lies from the beginning.

Hiring her in the wake of these known lies implies that we could very well see a repeat of them in 2022 should Mastriano lose the general election in November. These lies, if they appear as they did in 2020, will likely begin before any votes are cast.

Given the fact that Mastriano has participated in a coup already, and appears to be laying the groundwork for another, Pennsylvania voters should brace themselves for an onslaught of election fraud lies in the coming months.
