A recent Fox News poll shows John Fetterman leading Dr. Mehmet Oz by 11 points, and Josh Shapiro ahead of Doug Mastriano by 10 points.
Pennsylvania’s Democratic candidates for governor and US Senate posted a double-digit lead over their Republican opponents in the latest Fox News poll.
John Fetterman has an 11-point lead over Mehmet Oz in the race for Republican Pat Toomey’s seat in the Senate, according to the poll. It’s Fetterman’s largest lead in any poll since June. Fetterman leads Oz 47% to 36%.
More than 50% of poll respondents were skeptical about Oz’s claims of Pennsylvania residency. Fetterman’s campaign has jumped on every attempt to slam the celebrity surgeon for his ties to New Jersey, enlisting the help of Garden State celebrities like Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band guitarist and “Sopranos” actor Steven Van Zandt, and reality television star Snooki.
According to the poll, Fetterman’s support is largely among women. He also leads Oz among suburban voters.
In the governor’s race, Democratic candidate Josh Shapiro boasted a 10-point advantage over Republican Doug Mastriano. Shapiro leads Mastriano 50% to 40%.
Shapiro had more support among white men with a college degree as well as both urban and suburban voters. Mastriano led among rural voters, as well as white rural voters.
Shapiro also had more support among Republicans than Mastriano did among Democrats, which is no surprise as some GOP politicians have publicly endorsed Shapiro, citing Mastriano’s ties to conspiracy theorists and anti-semites, his allegiance to Donald Trump, and his extreme stances on abortion and LGBTQ rights.
Both Oz and Mastriano face an uphill battle across the broad spectrum of voters. About 41% of voters have a “strongly unfavorable” view of Oz, while 39% of voters hold the same view of Mastriano.
