Find spine-tingling fun at these 8 haunted attractions in the Pittsburgh area

With haunted houses, haunted hayrides, and even a zombie apocalypse, a spooky Halloween season awaits for those who dare in and around Pittsburgh.

Yinzers don’t have to go far to get into the Halloween spirit in the Pittsburgh area. Spooky season is in full swing in the Steel City.

We’ve put together a list of eight attractions not for the faint of heart in and around the ‘Burgh. Featuring miles of haunted houses, scary creatures, and spine-tingling scares, Halloween enthusiasts have plenty of options for thrills and chills this year..

Hundred Acres Manor – Bethel Park

Ranked “Pittsburgh’s Best Haunted House” by HauntWorld for the past two years, the Hundred Acres Manor in Bethel Park features five haunted house sections, a scream bar, and a scary maze.

ScareHouse – Tarentum

ScareHouse, located in the Pittsburgh Mills in Tarentum, has been ranked as one of “America’s Scariest Halloween Attractions” by Travel Channel and has been featured on “Good Morning America.” This attraction takes you through an intense haunted house giving you scare after scare.

Castle Blood – Monessen

Housed in a historic 100-year-old funeral home, Castle Blood in Monessen is a haunted adventure tour featuring a game that changes annually. American Airlines Magazine described a visit to the attraction as “playing Clue in the Addams Family house.”

Haunted Hollow – Rockwood

Haunted Hollow is a multi-zone haunted house in Rockwood. This attraction features numerous scary options such as Bruner Boarding House, Milford Asylum, a haunted hayride, a toxic wasteland, and much more.

Zombies of the Corn – Freedom

Help stop the zombie apocalypse in Pittsburgh. At Zombies of the Corn, you ride a specialized zombie fighting vehicle to eliminate these flesh-eating creatures. This interactive haunted attraction also features a corn maze.

Haunted Three Rivers Cruise & Tour – Pittsburgh

The Haunted Pittsburgh Cruise is a spooky evening trip along the Three Rivers accompanied by ghost stories, spooky crewmates, and Tarot card readings at 6:30 and 8:30 p.m.

Haunted Pittsburgh Ghost Tours – Pittsburgh

Find out what goes bump in the night throughout the historic streets of Pittsburgh on a Haunted Pittsburgh Ghost Tour. Departing from Station Square, the tour travels up to Mt. Washington on the iconic — and purportedly haunted — Monongahela Incline. Then, you’ll explore one of the city’s most haunted neighborhoods as storytellers reveal the chilling tales of Pittsburgh’s spectacularly macabre past.

Buffalo Bill’s House – Perryopolis

You may know that the classic thriller, “The Silence of the Lambs,” was filmed in and around Pittsburgh, and you’ll find one of the classic film’s most iconic locations about an hour southeast of the city. Buffalo Bill’s House, is open for tours and special events, and, if you dare, you can even spend the night.
