AOC, Fain rip Trump’s ‘dress up’ McDonald’s campaign stunt

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Shawn Fain rallied hundreds of young voters in Philadelphia on Sunday where they blasted Donald Trump’s campaign stunt working at a Bucks County McDonald’s.

“Halloween came early for Donald Trump because we know that man has never worked a day in his life.”

That’s how Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-New York) characterized Trump’s campaign appearance working a fry station and drive-thru window at a Bucks County McDonald’s on Sunday

Ocasio-Cortez joined United Auto Workers President Shawn Fain, who are both touring the commonwealth speaking to voters, ripped Trump’s antics on Sunday in front of hundreds of young voters at the Service Employee International Union (SEIU) 32 BJ’s union hall in Philadelphia.

“We know that man has never punched a clock in his life,” Ocasio-Cortez continued to say about Trump’s shift at the fast food restaurant.

“He’s never wiped down a table in his life. He’s never had to fix his own car. He’s never struggled to make ends meet. He does not know what it means to check your paycheck every week and see what you got left. He doesn’t know the first thing about that.”

Trump and the right-wing echo chamber have been trying to cast doubt about Vice President Kamala Harris working at a McDonald’s during the 1980’s because she didn’t list it on her resume while applying for a local law clerk position since Harris joined the race in August.

This infatuation culminated on Sunday when Trump held a staged campaign stunt working the fryer and take-out window at a Lower Southampton McDonald’s. Trump was met by hundreds of supporters and took rehearsed orders at the closed McDonald’s.

Fain called Trump’s campaign stunt a joke following Sunday’s rally.

“He could care less about working class people,” Fain told reporters. “I mean, in my opinion, fast food workers are beneath him.”

Fain defended Harris working at McDonald’s during the rally and reminded voters of Harris’ middle class upbringing.

“Another twisted irony in Trump’s dress up show today, Kamala Harris doesn’t have to put on a show,” Fain said.

“She doesn’t have to play dress-up at McDonald’s because she actually wore the uniform. She’s one of us that’s worked her way up through the ranks and she had to work to make a living just like the rest of us do.”
