Abby Barker-Deatrick is a community organizer and political social worker working to strengthen our democracy and promote social justice. With a background rooted in grassroots organizing, Abby brings a passion for community engagement, collective action, and civic engagement. Currently serving as a Regional Community Development Organizer at Courier Newsroom, she focuses on building community partnerships, amplifying key voices and stories, and working to grow the people-centered pro-democracy media infrastructure. Outside of work, Abby enjoys spending time outdoors, attempting to garden, and playing with her dogs.
