Philly’s NBA team and Rock the Vote are teaming up to present Philaland, a free event Saturday at the Mann Center aimed at highlighting the importance of early voting in Pennsylvania ahead of Election Day.

Incumbent Republican Stacey Garrity is facing Democratic challenger Erin McClelland to head the department charged with safeguarding and managing the state’s money, and administering programs aimed at providing families with financial empowerment.

Mail ballots are now available in approximately 50 counties, giving Pennsylvania voters the opportunity to cast their vote early through the mail, in person at their county election office, or via drop box or satellite election office if available in their area.

Mail-in ballots are now available to voters in 17 Pennsylvania counties. Officials said that ballots should be available statewide sometime during the first week of October.

Voters elsewhere in the state who have already registered to vote by mail in the November election should begin receiving their mail ballots early in October.
