Each of these seven quaint and historical Pennsylvania B&Bs has a unique story to tell. Here’s what you need to know.
Finding the right place to stay during your next vacation, whether it’s a multi-day visit or a short overnight stay, can feel like a bit of an uphill challenge. Do you want to stay somewhere close to the town you’re visiting to keep activities within walking distance? What amenities are most important for you to have access to during your stay? In the grand scheme of things, we all spend significantly less time at a hotel or bed & breakfast (B&B) than we think we will, because most of our time is spent exploring, but it’s still an important decision to make.
Staying somewhere safe, clean, and historical that also happens to offer breakfast is an ideal solution to this back-and-forth process. In Pennsylvania specifically, B&Bs are going to tick all of your boxes when it comes to accommodations. They’re typically located within a desirable, walkable neighborhood, are safe and tidy, and each has a unique story to tell about when and how it was built.
Here are seven quaint B&Bs found throughout the Keystone State for you to check out before you plan your next vacation or staycation.
1. Hargrave House, Doylestown
Located in historic Doylestown, the Hargrave House is a bed and breakfast situated near museums, shops, and restaurants. Hargrave House was built between 1812 and 1815, and has been restored over the years to preserve its original charm while providing more comfortable, modern amenities. The furniture in the reception area and most bedrooms is antique, which lends to the historic atmosphere, though some pieces have been modernized.
