Expect even longer wait times at Philly airport amid TSA issue, see why

Less than a week after closing Terminal C, the TSA announced it has temporarily closed Terminal A-West and Terminal F as of Thursday, March 18, in order to “help optimize operations across other checkpoints.”

Philadelphia International Airport has closed two more TSA security checkpoints.

Less than a week after closing Terminal C, the TSA announced it has temporarily closed Terminal A-West and Terminal F as of Thursday, March 18, in order to “help optimize operations across other checkpoints,” airport officials posted on social media.

The three closures come as result of the TSA staffing issues brought on by the ongoing partial government shutdown, which is now in its 33rd day.

TSA wait times impact

With the new closures, the airport recommends travelers arrive two-and-a-half hours early for domestic flights and three-and-a-half-hours early for international flights.

Live TSA wait times may be found on the airport website.

“We appreciate your patience as we work with TSA and our airline partners to keep operations running smoothly and efficiently for all travelers,” airport officials wrote in the social media post.

Although the closures are set to be temporary, there’s no set date for when the terminals will reopen.
