Planned Parenthood Reminding Voters that Carluccio Scrubbed Anti-Abortion Resume from Website

Planned Parenthood is launching a six-figure ad campaign reminding voters that Carolyn Carluccio scrubbed her anti-abortion resume from her campaign website. The story was originally reported right here in The Keystone. 

The national arm of Planned Parenthood launched a six-figure ad campaign that will run through election day highlighting Carolyn Carluccio’s anti-abortion views. 

The Keystone originally reported in May that Carluccio, the Republican nominee for this year’s Pennsylvania Supreme Court race, scrubbed her anti-abortion resume from her website following the primary election. 

Her resume was originally posted on her “About” page and The Keystone  accessed it through an internet archive. The resume stated that as a judge she would be a “Defender of the 2nd Amendment Rights and All Life Under the Law.” 

“Carolyn Carluccio ran on being an anti-abortion judge in the Republican primary but now she’s trying to hide her anti-abortion views. She cannot be trusted to respect Pennsylvanians’ constitutional rights,” said Breana Ross, spokesperson for Planned Parenthood Votes. 

Planned Parenthood will air 15 second ads across social media platforms. One ad shows Carluccio’s resume with her anti-abortion rhetoric disappearing from the document. 

During the primary, Carluccio was endorsed by the Pro-Life federation, the Commonwealth Leaders Fund, a political action committee associated with Pennsylvania’s richest billionaire Jeffrey Yass, and the PA Chamber of Business and Industry . 

The Pro-Life Federation’s website states they are against abortion from the moment of conception and grant legal protection to fetuses. 

Planned Parenthood votes also pointed out that Carluccio’s family foundation, the Little Tower Foundation, has given at least $10,000 to a local anti-abortion organization and that Carluccio has served as the organization’s bookkeeper. She is also a substantial contributor to the foundation.

Democrats currently hold a 4-2 majority on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, but If Carluccio wins in November, Republicans will have an easier opportunity to flip the court in 2025 when three Democratic justices are up for retention votes. 

“We know where Carluccio stands and it’s not with the majority of Pennsylvanians who proved last election cycle that they want candidates who will protect access to safe, legal abortion. This election could determine the future of abortion access in the state and Daniel McCaffery is the leader Pennsylvania needs,” said Ross.
