The Democratic US Senator from Scranton made the announcement Monday. Casey’s success in 2024 will be a key factor in helping Democrats maintain a narrow Senate majority.
In his first interview since leaving the hospital, Sen. John Fetterman described what he called a downward spiral following the November election, saying he had stopped engaging with the “things that I love in my life."
Fetterman was barely a month into his first term as US Senator and still recovering from the aftereffects of a stroke when he entered the hospital to receive inpatient treatment for clinical depression.
His office released a statement acknowledging that Fetterman has experienced depression intermittently throughout his life, and that the condition had become severe in recent weeks.
