David Lynch, visionary filmmaker behind ‘Twin Peaks’ and ‘Mulholland Drive,’ dies at 78
Lynch studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA) in Philadelphia, and often cited the city as his biggest inspiration. “I always say, Philadelphia is my biggest influence. There is something about the mood here. The fear, insanity, corruption, filth, despair, violence in the air was so beautiful to me,” the filmmaker said in 2014.
