Here’s how Pennsylvanians can claim tax credits for their electric vehicles with the Inflation Reduction Act

The Inflation Reduction Act included tax credits and rebates for electric vehicles and charging stations that many Pennsylvanians can still claim.

Pennsylvanians who have purchased an electric vehicle (EV) or invested in an EV charging station could be getting tax benefits for going green under the Inflation Reduction Act.

THE BENEFITS:

EV Purchase Credit: Provides up to $7,500 in credit for light-duty EVs.
PA Alternative Vehicle Fuel Rebate: Provides up to $2,000 off the purchase price of a new EV in addition to tax benefits.
Used EVs Credit: Provides up to $4,000 or 30% of the vehicle’s value (whichever is lower).
Direct Current Fast Charging Station Incentive: Provides rebates for EV charging infrastructure installations.

WHAT’S BEHIND THE SAVINGS: The Inflation Reduction Act was signed into law by President Joe Biden in 2022 and was largely touted as a win for climate change and clean energy.
