A recent study named York as Pennsylvania’s most Hallmark-like town.
The Action Network, an online research-driven platform, analyzed over 3,000 US towns on small business numbers, historic sights, and winter snowfall to find the city in each state with the highest potential to host a real-life Hallmark moment.
Among the top 10 US towns, little old York ranked as Pennsylvania’s most Hallmark-like town, landing in 10th place, behind Littleton, Colorado, Fairbanks, Alaska and Burlington, Vermont. Puyallup, Washington took first place.
According to its analysis, York’s population of just under 45,000 is large enough for a “lively” main street energy, and it’s eight-inch average snowfall creates a wintry backdrop. The study also credits York’s charm to its abundance of historic buildings, church steeples and small business storefronts − made for holiday window-shopping.
Cherry Lane could set the perfect scene for Hallmark’s next holiday romance. After all, York County is already home to the TV network’s number one fan. What do you say, Hallmark?
A holiday romantic flick was filmed in Gettysburg
“A Gettysburg Christmas” isn’t a Hallmark film, but it is a romance holiday flick that was filmed in modern-day Gettysburg. It was written and directed by Bo Brinkman.
The film premiered at the Gettysburg Christmas Festival in 2023, and it was made available on streaming services last month.
Viewers can see familiar sites in the Gettysburg area, including the Dobbin House Tavern, The Christmas Haus, Mr. G’s Ice Cream, Farnsworth House Inn, and the Cashtown Inn.
