3. Saigon Nights

Saigon Nights offers a distinctive dining experience that sets it apart from other Chinese restaurants in Erie. With its fusion of Chinese and Vietnamese cuisines, it delivers a fresh twist on traditional flavors. A highlight on their menu is the Saigon Fusion Platter, which expertly blends Chinese and Vietnamese ingredients to create a dish that’s both flavorful and unique.

Customer service at Saigon Nights also stands out. The staff is known for their friendly and attentive approach, making guests feel welcome and valued. This level of hospitality adds to the overall dining experience, making it a place where visitors are likely to return.

Because of the friendly service and delightful food, Saigon Nights has quickly become a popular spot for Erie residents and visitors looking to explore a blend of Asian cuisines. Its innovative approach to traditional dishes offers a refreshing alternative to conventional Chinese food options.

Saigon Nights has historically been open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, in case you’re looking for some holiday dining options.

2. Royal Chopstix Asian Cuisine

Royal Chopstix Asian Cuisine is another Erie favorite offering a fusion dining experience — American Chinese food favorites, Thai noodles, and delicious Japanese fare. This restaurant prides itself on a menu that features a diverse array of specialties, including sushi rolls, Szechuan dishes, and green curry.

In addition to their variety of dishes, Royal Chopstix frequently features special promotions. Weekday lunch specials and family-style dinner packages provide an opportunity to enjoy high-quality meals at a great value. These promotions are a reflection of the restaurant’s commitment to making authentic Asian cuisine accessible to everyone.

The staff at Royal Chopstix also contributes to the restaurant’s appeal. Known for their attentive and friendly service, and fast pickup options, they ensure that each guest feels welcome and well-fed. This level of hospitality, combined with the delicious food, makes for a memorable meal.

Royal Chopstix Asian Cuisine is officially open on Christmas Day this year! Their holiday hours are 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Reservations are requested but not required.

1. Hong Kong

Hong Kong stands as a cherished fixture in Erie’s Chinese food landscape. Opened in 1991, this no-frills spot on West 26th Street is celebrated for its consistency and quality. This restaurant was a go-to for me back in the early 2000s when I lived but a few blocks away. Clearly, it’s still a go-to for locals who crave dependable and delicious Chinese food.

The menu offers a variety of classic American Chinese dishes that have stood the test of time. Still, to this day, Hong Kong serves up some of the best potstickers and crab rangoons I’ve ever had. General Tso’s Chicken and Beef with Broccoli are some of their most popular dishes. Their well-executed recipes have garnered a loyal customer base that appreciates the reliable dining experience Hong Kong provides.

Don’t expect a fancy dining room — this is a pick-up and delivery Chinese food paradise for fast meals you can enjoy on your couch, in your pajamas, while the snow is pouring down in massive wet sheets.

Hong Kong is, just like your other two favorite Chinese restaurants, open on Christmas Day for takeout.
