This Friday is Juneteenth Pennsylvania, which offers an amazing opportunity to show support for local African American communities. And there are other ways you can get involved politically over the next week. 

Here’s our weekly roundup of upcoming events and actions.

Friday (June 19)

African American Museum in Philadelphia: Juneteenth Jubilee Block Party (12-5 p.m.)

A block party honoring Juneteenth and the 50th anniversary of the African American Museum.

Black Scranton Project: Juneteenth Open House (2-6 p.m.)

An intimate celebration of Juneteenth and the past seven years of the Black Scranton Project. 

Action Together NEPA: Williamsport Fight Back Fridays (3-4 p.m.)

A protest outside of Republican US Rep. Dan Meuser’s office.

Beaver County Democratic Committee: Friday Rush Hour Protest (4-5 p.m.)

A weekly pro-democracy protest during rush hour in Beaver County.

Saturday (June 20)

Juneteenth Lehigh Valley: Parade (Easton, 12-3 p.m.)

A local parade in honor of Juneteenth. 

Juneteenth Lehigh Valley: Festival (Easton, 1-3 p.m.)

A festival following the Lehigh Valley parade in Easton. 

Sunday (June 21)

Pennsylvania Juneteenth Initiative: Philadelphia Juneteenth Parade and Festival (12:30 p.m.)

A parade in celebration of Juneteenth followed by a festival at Malcolm X Park.

Stop the Violence Pittsburgh: Juneteenth Parade (11 a.m.)

A Juneteenth parade in Downtown Pittsburgh. 

Monday (June 22)

Indivisible Lancaster Together: Neighborhood Happy Hour (Lancaster, 4-6 p.m.)

A happy hour for progressives at Lombardo’s Deli and Bistro.

Indivisible: Democracy Mondays (Pittsburgh, 4:30-6 p.m.)

A weekly progressive protest at the Frick Park Playground.

Thursday (June 25)

Pennsylvania Stands Up: Plants & Pots Fellowship Fundraiser (Bethlehem, 6-8 p.m.)

A fundraising and succulent planting event.
