Here’s our weekly roundup of upcoming events and actions.
Friday (Aug. 7)
Action Together NEPA: Williamsport Fight Back Fridays (3-4 p.m.)

Saturday (Aug. 8) National Day of Action, League of Women Voters
The League of Women Voters will have a National Day of Action on Saturday honoring the anniversary of the Voting Rights Act of 1965, when many Jim Crow-era restrictions on voting were made illegal. The goal? Getting as many people registered to vote as possible ahead of the midterm elections in November.
There will be hundreds of voter registration events, educational opportunities, and rallies across the country and in Pennsylvania, with a core event taking place in Philadelphia. This core event will include an interactive teach-in event focused on voter education, engagement, and turnout. Other events across the state include:

Sunday (Aug. 9)
One Nation, Overcharged: Popsicle Truck (Philadelphia, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.)
A free popsicle truck outside of the Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival.
Affordable Pennsylvania: “Titanic” Dress-Up & Film Viewing (Lehigh County, 12:30-4:15 p.m.)
A dress-up “Titanic” viewing event that explores class divides in the film.
Tuesday (Aug. 11)
CHOP Out Hunger Scranton: Volunteer hours (Various times)
A volunteer opportunity with a local food bank.
One Pennsylvania: Rally at City Hall (Philadelphia, 1-2 p.m.)
A rally protesting the sale of tenant housing to a private developer.
One Pennsylvania: Free Renters Rights Clinic (Philadelphia, 6-8 p.m.)
A free renters rights workshop with tenant advice from housing lawyers.
Wednesday (Aug. 12)
Indivisible: Defending Democracy presentation (Milford, 6-7:30 p.m.)
A presentation discussing voting rights and actions surrounding the midterm elections in November.
Thursday (Aug. 13)
Cambria County Democratic Committee: Annual Picnic (Ebensburg, 4:30-7 p.m.)
A casual potluck-style summer picnic.
Montgomery County Democratic Committee: Summer Get-Together (Norristown, 6-9 p.m.)
A family-friendly picnic at Eagle Park Pavilion.
