In Pennsylvania’s 8th District, Republican Congressman Rob Bresnahan Jr., seeking his second term, and Democrat Paige Cognetti are both unopposed in their May 19 primary races.
Rob Bresnahan Jr.
Rob Bresnahan Jr., of Dallas Township, has been serving the 8th District since his two-year term began in January 2025. He serves on the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, the House Committee on Agriculture and the House Committee on Small Business.

The congressman married former WNEP reporter and anchor Chelsea Strub in 2025.

In 2024, Cognetti was appointed by President Joe Biden to the United States Trade Representative’s Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations.
