Hi neighbor,
Just because Election Day (Tuesday, Nov. 3) won’t arrive for another three weeks doesn’t mean you have to wait that long to cast your ballot for the 2026 midterm election. You have two options for voting between now and Election Day in Pennsylvania.
1. Vote by mail
If you’re one of the nearly 1 million Pennsylvanians who have already applied for a mail ballot, you should have received it by now. Mail ballots have been sent to voters in all but four of Pennsylvania’s 67 counties, according to the Department of State. Counties have until next Tuesday (Oct. 20) to send them out.
You can apply for your mail ballot through the Department of State website. You can also print and complete this application form, then mail the completed application to your county election board office or drop it off at the office in person. Find your local office using this tool.
Whichever way you apply, your application must be received by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 27. Your county election board office must receive your completed ballot by 8 p.m. on Election Day. You can mail it in, drop it off in person at the county election board office, or, if available in your county, use a designated drop box.
We’ve got more about voting by mail right here.
2. On-demand voting
While Pennsylvania does not offer early, in-person voting at polling places like some other states, on-demand voting is available, where registered voters can apply for, complete, and submit their mail ballot ahead of Election Day all in one visit at their county elections office. The same deadlines apply.
