High temperatures across the state will remain in the mid-to-upper 90s, while the heat index value could hit 105 in Eastern Pa., and get to as high as 110 in the Pittsburgh area.
Extreme heat advisories have been issued by the National Weather Service throughout most of Pennsylvania, as heat and humidity continue to fuel a prolonged heat wave which is expected to last for the remainder of the week.
High temperatures across the state will remain in the mid-to-upper 90s, while the heat index value — what the temperature actually feels like when relative humidity is combined with the air temperature — could hit 105 in Eastern Pa., and get to as high as 110 in the Pittsburgh area.
Residents are advised to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, stay out of the sun, and check up on elderly relatives and neighbors.

Here’s a look at where the heatwave stands as of Tuesday morning across the state:
Eastern Pa.
Heat advisories are now in effect for Tuesday and Wednesday. An excessive heat watch is currently scheduled for Thursday morning into Sunday evening.
For the heat advisory, heat index values up to 96 are expected. For the excessive heat watch, dangerously hot conditions could elevate index values up to 105.
Central Pa.
A heat advisory is currently in effect each day from noon to 8 p.m. through Friday. The advisory extends from the New York border to the Maryland border.
Western Pa.
A heat advisory is currently in effect through Friday. Heat index numbers will exceed triple digits and possibly hit 110 degrees near Pittsburgh Thursday through Saturday, when the hottest weather of the week is expected.
