Where does Pennsylvania fall on the religious spectrum?

A new Pew Research Center survey found that 33% of Pennsylvania residents say religion is very important in their lives.

A new Pew Research Center survey found that 33% of Pennsylvania residents say religion is very important in their lives.

If you’ve ever wondered how religious Pennsylvania is compared to other states, results from a new survey may provide the answers you’re looking for.

The Pew Research Center surveyed nearly 40,000 US adults and approximately two-thirds of them said that religion is very important in their lives, with 83% saying they believe in God or a universal spirit.

The share of Americans surveyed who said they pray at least once a day is 44%, while 30% said they go to religious services at least once a month.

Overall, Pennsylvania ranked as the 35th most religious state, with 33% of Pennsylvanians surveyed saying that religion is very important in their lives, 28% saying they attend religious services monthly, 40% saying they pray daily, and 50% saying they believe in God or a universal spirit.
