The national voter turnout organization, When We All Vote, has fought for safe and intimidation-free elections for the past decade. Their strategy? Bringing the party to the polls themselves.

Party at the Polls is a national initiative that brings people together with culture, music, food, and community. When We All Vote has thrown over 3,000 parties around the country, which have directly helped increase voter turnout by 2-4 percent since its founding, making Party at the Polls an effective and fun way to fight against voter suppression.

In the words of When We All Vote’s Senior Advisor Kalisha Dessources Figures,  “As early voting starts in the midterm elections, we can’t ignore how different and heavy voting feels for some Americans. That’s why our largest-ever Party at the Polls program will ensure voters across the country feel empowered and energized to show up with and for one another. These events are more than just fun — they’re effective. These parties will shape key races across the country.”

There are plenty of ways to take part in this national initiative. You can attend one of several Party at the Polls events near you, or you can even throw one yourself. Here are some ways you can get involved.
